Solaris Capital Advisors is a fund manager under the direction of Owen Brown. Mr. Brown is a discretionary macro trader who applies both fundamental and technical analysis to the global financial markets. He has over 25 years experience trading these markets for both institutions and hedge funds. Solaris Capital Advisors Spectra Fund LLC began trading in June 2000. An important element of the Solaris investment process is the implementation of creative trade structures, which serve to enhance the reward-to-risk characteristics of trading positions. These structures may involve the use of sophisticated derivativestrategies and intermarket cross relationships. This has resulted in Solaris’ returns being uncorrelated withboth the S&P index and other global macro managers. Although options strategies are an integral part of Solaris’ program, options are not sold short to earn premium. In addition, Solaris employs a systematic approach to risk control designed to minimize loss.
