Program Description: The SAT Energy Program, traded by Darren Dohme, is based upon a combination of fundamental and technical analysis. The methods include historical seasonal price tendencies, spreads, and option strategies. Trading is performed in futures and options on futures in the energy markets. Mr. Dohme looks at supply and demand factors, weather, political climate, technical chart formations, approaching season in the energy markets to predict a futures price. For example, as we approach the winter heating season, Mr. Dohme may look at the heating oil stocks situation in the US and Europe, weather forecasts, political tension, economic demand, chart formations and other heating related markets, Mr. Dohme feels that some of the best price discovery in the energy markets is 2-6 months out in time. Mr. Dohme may enter the futures markets many months before the driving season starts. Short term trading ideas (days or weeks) may be influenced more from technical factors such as chart formations, or fundamental information for example, pipeline or refinery outages.
