EMC Capital Management utilizes a trading strategy characterized as technical and trend-following. Analysis of historical price patterns and specific technical indicators are studied to diagnose current market behavior and identify buy and sell points. When trades are established it will always with the direction of the current trend. If a trend is not confirmed by technical signals then some potential trades are not taken. Liquidating trades are also generally determined by following the trend but can be countertrend if EMC determines the trend may have been exhausted. EMC employs multiple systems simultaneously in a highly diversified portfolio in an attempt to reduce each accounts overall market risk exposure. Over 60 commodities are tracked for potential trading as positions in ten or more markets are usually held. Three trading systems generate potential trades with various timing parameters and EMC subjectively analyzes each based on historical strengths and weaknesses to make each trade decision.
