PLEASE NOTE: NO TRADING ACTIVITY OCCURED IN THIS PROGRAM BETWEEN 3/2005 AND 9/2005. DEC Capital Commodity Alternatives Program--DEC Capital employs a discretionary approach to trading the corn, wheat, soybean complex, cattle and lean hog markets. Non-agricultural markets are traded to a lesser degree. DEC draws heavily on president and head trader Doug Carper's extensive experience in serving commercial agricultural and livestock enterprises and their hedging activities. Mr. Carper’s proprietary research contacts are unparalleled. Trading strategies are developed and implemented based primarily on fundamental analysis which studies external forces that affect the price of a futures contract, such as supply and demand, economic factors, policies of various governments, national and international political and economic events, and changes in interest rates. DEC also uses technical analysis to help identify price trends, gauge market sentiment, and to determine entry / exit points. DEC uses options strategies for outright profit potential as well as for risk management purposes, and is a heavy user of relationship strategies.
