Program Description: AgTech, Inc. is an agricultural commodities trading firm focusing on the grain and meat markets. The trading philosophy that AgTech has developed, since their trading began in 1982, utilizes inter-commodity spread strategies to profit in the futures markets. Typically long or short positions are established in relatively new futures contracts that have just begun trading. Basically they search for those contracts that are out of balance in their initial trading prices of one commodity relative to the other. At certain times agtech may convert all of its commodity futures positions to cash or cash equivalents. AgTech’s utilizes a computer program which analyzes a number of statistical approaches in order to identify which market positions are most likely to be profitable. The amount of assets allocated and the number of contracts traded in each respective market is determined from AgTech’s internal research along with a set of predetermined trading principles.
